In the new product design phase, Goertek complies with the EU’s Establishing a Framework for the Setting of Ecodesign Requirements for Energy-Related Products, the EU’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive and China’s General principle and requirements of eco-design for products. With reference to the Principles of Green Chemistry, the Company has formulated a series of management policies and regulations including the Goertek Inc. Hazardous Substance Management Policy, the Goertek Restricted Substance Standard, the Operational Guidelines for Environmental Testing and Monitoring of Incoming Materials, the Operational Guidelines for Environmental Testing and Monitoring of Production Processes and the Operational Guidelines for Environmental Testing and Monitoring of Finished Product Shipment. The Company measures the impacts of lifecycle stages such as product design, procurement and manufacturing on human and environmental health, incorporates them into the formal assessment, and strives to reduce the adverse impacts of products on human and environmental health.

The Company fully implements the concept of hazardous substance reduction, meeting customers’ requirements such as halogen-free (HF) and hazardous substance-free (HSF), and adopts non-hazardous chemical components in product development and production. The Goertek Restricted Substance Standard has been fully communicated and implemented both within the Company and across the entire supply chain.

Green Operation??

All water used in the company comes primarily from the city water supply system, which has no effect on rivers, lakes, underground water and sea ice. The water used is for office work and living. There is no industrial water used in the manufacturing process. Our manufacturing is assembly which requires no water. The waste gas is industrial waste gas and oil fumes from restaurants. The main sources of noise are from air-conditioners, air compressors, cooling towers, fans, water pumps or other power equipment. We have adopted a variety of methods to reduce noise, such as updating the facilities, improving technology and isolating the noise source.

Waste is divided into two categories: general waste and hazardous waste. General waste is sent to professional recycling companies while hazardous waste is handed to qualified companies who are registered with Environmental Protection Agency. Our company values office environment. We reduce energy consumption and improve utilization of resources by improving management and cultivating employees' environmental awareness.

Efficiency Improvement and Emission Reduction, Climate Change Mitigation

We take "compliant energy use, efficiency improvement and emission reduction, full participation and green development" as the energy management policy, establish an internal management system based on ISO50001 and accept internal and external audit every year.

We carry out energy management through management and technology, and implement efficiency improvement, emission reduction and green development into the internal operation of the company. We mainly focus on the production process of products, develop and promote the use of clean energy. We meet client needs, actively participate in electricity market-oriented transactions, and promote digital energy operations to control and reduce the negative impact of carbon emission sources on the environment.
